tea ceremony

a return to presence

a way of coming home through the quiet ritual of tea

This is the beginning of something simple and sacred – a soft launch of tea ceremonies in the Blue Mountains. Join these early gatherings to slow down, listen to your own being, and rest in presence.

The Invitation

In a world that moves fast, the tea ceremony invites us to slow down – to listen, to taste, and to arrive.

Rooted in the Chinese tradition of Cha Dao, this practice is a meditation in motion – a way of coming home to presence through the quiet ritual of tea.

Each bowl is a reminder to breathe, to soften, to be here.

As the steam rises and the senses awaken, we return to the simplicity of being – to a place beyond words, where connection, stillness, and ease naturally unfold.

The Experience

Basia’s tea ceremony is an invitation to return to presence and stillness. Her recent journey through healing and navigating breast cancer has deepened her appreciation for Cha Dao – the Way of Tea – and the transformation it can bring.

Through these ceremonies, she creates spaces where guests can soften, listen, rest, and reconnect with what is truly home – the quiet, living presence within.

Facilitated by Basia

Each gathering is held in nature, with only four guests.

In shared silence and simplicity, we sit together and let Tea guide us back to presence.

A Glimpse of the Ceremony Style

While I’m in the process of filming a fresh video of my own tea ceremony, I’ve included this clip from a practitioner in Bali because it beautifully captures the style and spirit of the Cha Dao lineage I follow. It offers a sense of the mindfulness, ritual, and flow you can expect in one of my ceremonies.

My Journey

Basia has spent more than two decades exploring practices that cultivate presence, stillness, and self-connection. Her journey has woven together tea, meditation, yoga, art, and transpersonal coaching, creating a unique approach that blends ritual, creativity, and deep listening.

Her work with tea began early in her career, when she founded My Tea Ritual, guiding ceremonies that invited people to pause, breathe, and return to themselves. Over the years, she expanded into yoga and meditation teaching, including more than ten years teaching at Billabong Retreat and other retreat centres.

Returning to tea this past year, shaped by her personal journey through breast cancer, Basia has deepened her understanding of Cha Dao – the Way of Tea – and the profound transformation and healing that ritual can bring. Her ceremonies are an invitation to reconnect with the quiet, living presence within, to soften, and to remember the ease and clarity that is always available when we slow down.

Blending decades of experience with her personal and professional journey, Basia offers tea ceremonies that are at once simple, nourishing, and transformative – a space to rest, reflect, and come home to yourself.

A Glimpse into My Tea Ceremony Journey

This clip is from a tea ceremony I led on Sydney Weekender twelve years ago. While my current ceremonies have evolved since then, this video offers a glimpse into my earlier approach and the journey I’ve taken in sharing the art of Cha Dao.
